Precis of Art of WarThought this was the actual book rather than a precis of it， so despite it being a great reference you do not experience the Art of War but simply the footnotes。

Dos tempos de Platão， Sun Tzu é um dos ícones que nasceram nesses primeiros 500 anos antes de Cristo。 Sua existência inclusive é contestada por historiadores de diferentes linhas na china。 A Arte da Guerra é indubitavelmente um clássico， de refinamento e sofisticação também contestado， traduzido em muitas línguas e muito citado na área comercial， outros livros e filmes。Mas percebo que A Arte da Guerra é um livro lotados por frases afirmativas （“É assim e assado”， “Faça ou observa isso e aquilo”， Dos tempos de Platão， Sun Tzu é um dos ícones que nasceram nesses primeiros 500 anos antes de Cristo。 Sua existência inclusive é contestada por historiadores de diferentes linhas na china。 A Arte da Guerra é indubitavelmente um clássico， de refinamento e sofisticação também contestado， traduzido em muitas línguas e muito citado na área comercial， outros livros e filmes。Mas percebo que A Arte da Guerra é um livro lotados por frases afirmativas （“É assim e assado”， “Faça ou observa isso e aquilo”， “seja assim e assados”） e até construções algorítmicas （Se Então， Senão） em torno que fazer， como se organizar， como observar， interagir com inimigos e soldados。 É como se fosse um manual que consolida uma experiência tremenda， mas simples， rápido de ler e até mesmo direto demais。 Em comparação como outros autores e edições de livros que passam conhecimento numa narrativa mais envolvente e elaborada （ex: story telling）， a arte da guerra é um pouco pobre nesse aspecto， requer mais investimento de tempo。 Mas não acho que não tenha valor， é possível encontrar afirmações que pode mudar a forma como se está vendo uma determinada circunstância， a exemplo de:“A garantia de não seremos derrotados está em nossas mãos， mas a oportunidade de vitória sobre o inimigo é dada pelo próprio inimigo。”“A rapidez é a própria essência da guerra。 Tire vantagem de um inimigo que se atrasou em seus preparativos， movimente-se por caminhos inesperados e ataque pontos desprotegidos”Típicos fragmentos usados por vários autores que iniciam capítulos de seus livros criando uma atmosfera temática。 É que a Arte da Guerra mostra rastros filosóficos que exigem ou dão margem para se buscar maior aprofundamento e preparo pode consolidar o conhecimento que é passado。 No fim， acho eu é algo pra ler e reler。 。。。more

This is a must read for leadership。 Thousand years ago， Sun Tzu figured out the strongest strategy for high stake ventures: Never engage the risk and challenges directly， find ways to make them safe and easy。 This principle had been put to battle and proved successful over and over again by legendary generals， politicians and businessmen。 Warren Buffett’s investment is largely the materialization of Sun Tzu’s philosophy in investment。

3。5 stars！As it is touted， yes， this book is full of wisdom and I’ll probably reflect back on my markings and tabs。 BUT it wasn’t as revolutionary as I thought it would be based on how much people talk about it。 There is a lot of repeated ideas and even sentences and quite a few times I rolled my eyes because of how obvious some of what he’s saying was。 Overall I’m glad I read it and because of how famous it is， it’s good to know what everyone’s talking about。
